Secret Passions and Alter Egos!

I think deep, down inside each one of us are "secret passions" that we carry through our lives along with these little "alter egos" that we keep in check. A desire to be something or someone else at one time or another.

When I was growing up, I always wanted to do something in the art field...graphic designer, interior designer, some kind of designer. Well, I ended up in the medical field, helping people, looking at coronary arteries for a while and watching babies being born for the length of my work career!

However, 8 short years ago, a secret passion of mine came to the surface as my little alter ego said, "do it, do it"! So, I did it. I signed up for a safety course and got my license to be a "biker chick".

LOL! But believe me, I am no biker chick in any sense of the word. I have had people laugh and say, "You! Have a motorcycle? No way! I don't believe it!" I just don't fit the stigma of the biker chick scene. But I do love to ride.

Riding has long been a passion of my husband and I. Something that we shared together. Saturday mornings mean a quiet, relaxing ride together, stopping for coffee, sharing the beautiful scenery, and just spending time together. We always rode together until 8 years ago when someone said, "Get out from behind him and get your own bike"! Never before had the thought crossed my mind.

So, I did it! I got my license and my wonderful husband made sure that I had a great set of wheels of my own. Now, I ride with my "wing man" wherever I go. He is my guardian on wheels and the guardian of my heart!

And, here is my ride! This beautiful white pearl baby is all mine! She has been my riding companion for 8 years this month! I can't believe I have had her that long.
I never really talk about this "secret passion" of mine or the little "alter ego" that appears when I climb on that leather seat. But for some reason, with all the events in the past few months of my life, I decided it was time to open up and share my passion.

Life is so precious...I have learned that through the years. So, if you have a "secret passion" or little "alter ego" waiting to surface, don't wait too long! For we only walk this earth but once..."life is not a dress rehearsal!"

"My Little Man's Eyes"

This is my latest LO using the picture of "My Little Man's Eyes". The photo was taken during the 4th of July holiday when we were visiting with our grandson. What a joy he is! His personality just bursts right through his expressions! I used some of the Kaiser PPs and added some Reminisce and BG for matting and journaling tag. There are more LOs in the works with, of course, my favorite subject...Brenden! Stay tuned.

Emotions...

What a roller coaster of emotions I have seen and been through this past week. My dear, younger brother has once again had life threatening surgery. Our family has struggled, cried, and prayed together for this person that is such a huge part of our lives. As he heals, we will be his support system along with his abiding faith. He remains my brother, my friend, and my hero!

On a lighter note, our dear grandson remains a constant bright spot in our lives! We had a wonderful time visiting with him over the 4th of July holiday.

Home again!

Well, we are home again after spending the 4th with our DDs and their families. What a wonderful time we had! It rained on our parade, but we did manage some fireworks on Friday night. The rest of the weekend was beautiful!
