My Mother

I was truly blessed when I was born into this world. God gave me the best parents that anyone could ask for. They married young, struggled to make ends meet, and always made sure we had what we needed. I have 4 siblings, so we were a large family. But, my parents always found time to be where they needed to be when it came to one of us. We had more than enough love and support through the years. Although we lost my dad 14 years ago, my mother still continues to be there when we need her. We saw a strong and independent side of her when our father left this earth that we never knew existed. The five of us are still very close and, along with our mother, we are a strong circle of love. I am working on a heritage album of my parents that I hope to finish by the end of 2009. The layout below is my mother on her wedding day. She was a young bride at 19. Her ballerina length gown was exquisite. I love the lace jacket and all of the buttons. My sister has the shoes in her possesion, but I was fortunate enough to receive the gown itself!

Some Bunny Loves Him...

I have been so crazy busy lately that my scrapping has really taken a back seat. Spring is here...and that mean's cleaning out the dust bunnies! Speaking of bunnies, here is my favorite "little man" with the Easter Bunny!

Here's another LO I did recently using the Urban Grunge Kit from Swirlydoos! This is my first kit (second is on it's way) and I have to say, it is awesome! I can't wait til the May Kit arrives.

Brenden riding the 4 wheeler with his Pop Pop. I'm not sure who was having more fun!

Butterflies...a sign of spring!

April's ATC challenge at Cropstop is to create an ATC showing movement. Since butterflies happen to be a favorite of mine, it was an obviouse choice for this topic!

I used my CB Butterflies die and embossing set to make my butterfly. The underwing are cut and embossed on vellum. The upper wing is cut and embossed on BG Euphoria with a different embossing folder. The body of the butterfly was embossed and cut from SEI suede paper. I used the new EK Swiss Cheese punch and added some Stickle and Dew Drops.

Here are a couple of cards that I made using butterflies as embellishments. The top card was for a CC challenge. I made the butterfly using transparency, stamp, and Stazon. The bottom card has a buttfly made from a 5 petal flower. I just removed one of the petals and replaced it with wire for the antennae!

Autism Speaks!

Here's a chance to win a "Mason's Puzzle Acrylic Album"! Krissy, the founder of Swirlydoos Scrapbook Kits and mother of Mason, has designed this special puzzle for My Acrylic Album in honor of Mason, who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 18 months. In an effort to raise Autism awareness, Swirlydoos is giving away 3 acrylic albums donated by "My Acrylic Album". Stop by the Swirlydoos blog to see how you can qualify for one of these awesome albums.
