Clean & Simple and A Step Up with Couture Creations!

Today I want to share a tutorial along with two cards that I made for the Crafter's Home Blog using one of Couture Creations amazing embossing folders!

Known for their intricately designed embossing folders and elegant dies, Couture Creations has just released their "Fresh and Fun" Collection of folders.  This premium collection of eight, limited edition, embossing folder designs is available in both A2 and 5 x 7 sizes.  These embossing folders work in most leading die cutting machines including Cuttlebug, Grand Calibur and Sizzix.  Some will need an adapter.

Creating an elegant, embossed card is easy to achieve with some basic supplies and a Couture Creations embossing folder.

So let's create a card!

Supplies
Couture Creations Nuevo Embossing Folder
May Arts Sheer Satin Band Ribbon - Ivory
Queen & Co Pearls
Ranger Embossing Powder
Recollections Flowers
Rogue Redhead Designs Milliner Misses Stamp
Spellbinder Die-cuts
Tsukineko/Memento Black Tuxedo Ink
Tsukineko/Versamark Watermark Ink

This card is created in A2 size of 4 1/4"  x 5 1/2"
Metric Conversion chart: Metric Conversion

Step One  Create a card base in your choice of size and cardstock.  Set aside.

Step Two  Choose coordinating patterned paper and cut 1/4" smaller than the cardstock base.

Step Three  View of card base and patterned paper cut 1/4" smaller than cardstock.

Step Four Stamp and emboss image on white cardstock. Stamp sentiment on card base color cardstock.

Step Five  Select die cuts and cut embellishments including stamped image and sentiment.

Step Six  Adhere large oval die-cut to patterned paper and emboss with Nuevo embossing folder.

Step Seven  Adhere embossed card front to card base.  Assemble die-cut embellishments and adhere to embossed card front.

Now that we've seen the "clean and simple" version, let's add more detail to the next card.

A few more details and added embellishments make this card even more elegant.

This card is created in 5" x 7" size following the same basics steps and adding a third color for matting.

Thanks for stopping by to share my CAS and Step Up cards!  I hope you are inspired to try one of Couture Creations amazing embossing folders.

Gorgeous cards! I love how you embossed two different patterned/shaped papers for the background of your card at the same time! Such a cool effect!
