Craft Hoarders Anonymous October Blog Hop!

It's time for another Craft Hoarders' Anonymous Blog Hop!

We are a group of hoarding crafters...having fun and blogging about our creations.  On the 5th of every month, you will find new inspiration waiting for you from the "Craft Hoarders Anonymous" ladies.  Visit the hoarders in the list below, leave them some love and enjoy the amazing projects you see along the way.  Come back again in November to see new inspiration we have to share!

Here's my inspiration for you this month....

I dug into my stash of blank canvases and found this one that I started almost 3 years ago.   Gesso and the modeling paste bricks were as far as I got with this canvas!

"faith"

I sprayed and misted the background and bricks with several different colors.  While it was still wet, I spritzed water over the colors so they would bleed and run together.

Some of the spritzed areas actually look like twinkling stars.

I added a little distress ink to the bricks on the lower part of the canvas for contrast.

Lastly, I rubbed some Inca Gold randomly over the bricks and edges of the canvas.

A thick cut chipboard word, "faith" is the focal point.

I covered it with Gesso and two coats of gold acrylic paint.

Here's the finished word just sitting  on the canvas so that I could decide where I wanted to put flowers and other embellishments.

I lost count of how many times I moved the flowers around from place to place! And, I am seriously considering adding lights behind them.

I found a gate that I sprayed with pearl mist and placed it behind the word 'faith".  The flower clusters helped to pull all of the colors and details together.

This butterfly was originally white and it too, got misted with several colors to blend with the canvas background.  The jewel flourish was perfect to represent the butterfly in flight as the final detail on my canvas.

I am happy with the end results for my canvas.  To date, I have had several e-mails and offers to purchase it.  Not sure if I want to part with this or hang it on a wall in my craft space!
