My Sketch World 5th Anniversary Sketch-a-thon!

My Sketch World has been celebrating the whole month of February! It is the 5th anniversary of Lucy's website! Congratulations to you Lucy! She has posted 20 different sketch challenges. I have been so busy getting ready for our daughter's baby shower in 2 weeks, that I haven't had much time to scrap. I did manage to make a layout and a couple of cards with my favorite sketches.

Here is the layout sketch from Day 1 of the Sketch-a-thon. Isn't it awesome? I fell in love with it immediately!
I used Basic Grey Curio paper along with a Making Memory lace circle from my stash. The background matting is a Hambly Rose transparency over some Doodlebug black sugar coated cardstock. The photos are matted with American Craft glitter cardstock. The jewel swirls are Zva and the flowers and leaves are Prima. The red glitter alphas are from way back! They are Making Memories. I found the clear acrylic crown in my stash and it was the perfect finishing touch!

The photos are of our niece, Amber. She will be a contestant in the Miss Pennsylvania contest in June 2011!

The card sketches that I chose both happened to include a color challenge too! Worked for me!

Here is the first card that I created using the sketch and colors above. The papers are Echo Park, Bo Bunny and My Mind's Eye. I used my Spellbinder Large Scalloped circle die to cut the circle.

The banner sketch was more of a challenge because I couldn't decide on a sentiment. The "Get Well" worked out well on the banner.


I used Bo Bunny papers and Bazzill Cardstock for this card. The brads are so old, I have no idea who made them. The clock and bluebird stick pin are Making Memories. The sticker alphas are K & Co.
