Cardabilities, an international sketch challenge blog, features bi-monthly sketch challenges that are typically posted on the 15th and 30th of each month. February's challenges, however, post on the 14th and 28th. Find the challenge guidelines HERE on the Cardabilities Blog. "Be Mine"
I loved working with this sketch. It allowed for a lot of versatility with background choices along with layering for dimension. Since it is Valentine's Day today, I chose a heart theme for my card. And, being a member of the Dies R Us Challenge Blog Team, I used lots of die-cuts too!
A square cardstock base is layered with three different patterned papers. The cluster of die-cut shapes, on the misted background, is the main focal point of the card. I created dimension by using pop dots and layers. The banner and chevron are die cut from cardstock covered with washi tape. The others are cut from cardstock or patterned paper and inked. I used randomly brushed gesso all over the card. A few mulberry roses and dew drops were the finishing touches.
