April and warmer weather are finally here and we at Craft-Dee BowZ are celebrating with a new monthly challenge, "Anything goes and include a handmade bow".
My Craft-Dee BowZ April Challenge inspiration is an Easter card for my dear mother. Hopefully, she will already have it in hand when this post goes live.
We are playing with ombre colors this month at CDBZ and the papers I received in my DT product had a great selection of patterns with blended colors. When I started this card, I thought that it was "too busy" with all of the different colors and patterns, but when it was done, everything pulled together and I was delighted with the end result.
I love the dimension on this card created by using layers and pop dots. The ironwork window is one of my favorite die-cuts. I used the clear cellophane wrapper from the sticker package as the glass behind the ironwork. The cross is behind the window while the lilies are in front of it on top of the window frame. The window is matted with a lattice design which is also matted with several different colors of patterned paper. The "Happy Easter" sentiment is stamped on a die-cut tag and added across the top.
I created the ombre ribbon by using 3 different colors of distress ink over a piece of ivory ribbon. Starting with the lightest color, I blended each color into the next color. The bow was the perfect "pop of color" and so easy to create with my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool.
