Double D May "Patriotic" Challenge!

It's time for another Team Darlene Challenge on the Double D Challenge Blog!

In honor of all that have served, we are having a "Patriotic" themed challenge.   We want to see your  creative "Patriotic" projects.   Show us your stars, stripes, flags, flowers, or colors!

We will be choosing a Creative Winner and Top 3 to receive our Double D badge to share on your blogs.  In addition, when a prize is available, we will be using a random draw to select the winner.  Today is one of those days and EVERYONE has a chance to win. International entries are welcome as well!

The prize for May's Challenge is this most appropriate, awesome die cut!

"Thank You" to all who serve and have served their country!

Our easy rules are listed HERE, please be sure to take a peek at them.

Here is some creative inspiration for you...

This month comes to a close with a holiday that is near and dear to me, Memorial Day.  It's a Federal holiday here in the U.S. and honors those that have died while serving in their country's armed forces.  For me, it always brings to mind red poppies.  I can't remember how many times I stood in solemn silence and listened as "Flanders Fields", a memorial poem, was read aloud following the day's parade.

I have many family members and friends that have served, including my brother.   Creating a card with a patriotic theme came easy to me.  So easy, I decided to make two cards to inspire you for this challenge!

And, here is my "Patriotic" inspiration....

"Three cheers for the Red, White and Blue"!

 "Thank You"

So, come join us at the Double D Challenge Blog!  You'll find the challenge rules located at the top of the blog.  Link your entry using the Inlinkz icon found at the bottom of the current challenge post.

OMGoodness! I love everything about your card. It meets all of the requirements of a patriotic card. The colors, the flag and all of the additional elements. Perfect in every way.

Beautiful cards, Vicki. I love the drum image and how you layered the card and how fun to use Betty for an entirely different look. Love them both.

These are two most fabulous cards, Vicki! I loved the drum card at first sight. So creative and nicely arranged with a wonderful image and sentiment. And then you went and made Betty Boop! She's so cute! What soldier wouldn't love to receive this card? What a fantastic contribution to the challenge these two cards are.

Oh, wow! Vicki! These patriotic cards are so wonderfully vintage and beautifully composed! I had to chuckle...we are on the same wavelength, as I'm sharing a post about poppies and this poem on my blog on Tuesday. Great minds!!!!
Hugs...and Happy Memorial Day!
