Double D August Challenge...Neutral Colors

Hi everyone and welcome to another Double D Challenge!

It's August, and team Darlene is up with the second mood board challenge on the Double D Challenge Blog.  Our challenge to you is...create using "Neutral" colors!  Show us your project using the inspiration mood board posted below.  There are four different photos to inspire you.  Link it up at the bottom of  the "Neutrals" blog post in the Double D Challenge Blog by midnight, September 6th, for the chance to be a winner!

We'll be choosing a Creative Winner along with 3 others to receive our Double D Badge to share on their blogs.  In addition, when a prize is offered, we will be choosing a winner by random draw to receive the prize.  Today is one of those days and EVERYONE with an entry has a chance to win.  International entries are welcome as well!

You could win this Amy Design Parrot Die Cut!

Here's our "Neutrals" Challenge mood board...

I love all of these neutral shades, but was most inspired by the black/gray/white photo.  So...

Here's my "Neutral" inspiration!

"Hello"

This 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card is created in shades of gray with white and black accents.  The cardstock base is black and layered with tiny dotted paper from Pink Paislee's new C'est La Vie Collection.  The colors in the different patterns were perfect for this challenge.  The floral patterned paper is  matted in shades of gray cardstock.

I misted the chipboard sentiment with Tattered Angels Pearl spray mist.  The flowers have a touch of gesso on the edges and are highlighted with a Wink of Stella pen for shimmer.   I had to add a touch of color and chose green stems and ribbon for contrast.

From my stash...
Bazzill Cardstock
Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish Die Cut
Liquitex Gesso
May Arts Ribbon
Pink Paislee C'est La Vie Collection
Recollections Chipboard Word
Tattered Angels Pearl Mist
Spellbinder Grand Calibur Labels 1 Die Cut
Wink of Stella White and Clear Pens

So, come join us at the Double D Challenge Blog!  It's fun and you'll be glad you did! You can find the challenge rules located at the top of the blog.  Link your entry using the Inlinkz icon found at the bottom of the current challenge post.

I love it when a new post comes up for Double D so I can visit the team's blogs and see how they created the beauties I have been looking at on the team blog and also check out what else they have been doing. Love your papers, die cuts, flowers and that little pop of green. Beautiful design.

Oh, how beautiful in the shades of gray with those gorgeous roses and the pop of green! I've been enjoying this card since I saw it on Double D, but it's nice to read how you created it. Wonderful with the gesso on the roses and the mist on the "hello". A real WOW card, Vicki!
