Double D "Lavender and Lace" Challenge!

Phew...we made it through January without any snow!  Now, February is here and it's time for our first challenge of the month on the Double D Challenge Blog

Tomorrow, Punxatawney Phil makes his appearance to determine how much longer winter will last.  I have to say we have been most fortunate thus far with only a couple inches of snow here in SE PA.  However, February is always a thrill... if we are to get snow, it will be this month!

With that being said, February also brings us Valentine's Day.  I used the opportunity to combine the challenge theme with a Valentine's Day card that I made for someone special.  Although I am on Team Darlene, the majority of both teams like to participate in each others' challenges during the month.  Team Diane plays along with us on our challenges and vice versa.  I loved the February theme for Team Diane's challenge so I decided to play along too.

The challenge theme is...Lavender and Lace!
Use the color lavender and add lace to your project.  You can use a die cut, stamp, or even real lace including a doily.  We can't wait to see your creations.  Link your entry to the Double D Challenge Blog's "Lavender and Lace" post by midnight, February 12th for the opportunity to win one of the prizes listed below.

We will be choosing a Creative Winner and Top 3 to receive our Double D Badge to share on your blogs.  In addition, when a prize is available, we will be using a random draw to select the winner.  Today is one of those days and EVERYONE has a chance to win.  International entries are welcome as well!  Enter your project HERE.

You could win this gorgeous Precious Marieke Flower Border Die.

And here's our "Lavender and Lace" mood board to inspire you....

How inspiring is this?  These photos ooze elegance and romance!

Here's my Valentine Card to inspire you too....

"Love"

I love the combination of lavender and lace.  By the time I had decided on the design for my card, there were dozens of die cuts scattered on my craft table.  I didn't use them all, but did use seven of them. One of my favorite, the Prima Pineapple Doily, became the first of many background layers.  On top of that, I layered a new Joy Craft Viewmaster die.  I love the lacey edge on this!  Next, the Nesting Stitched Hearts and sentiment word  "Love" are Tutti Designs.  The greenery dies are Leane Creatief and Creative Expressions.  The honeycomb corner die is from Memory Box.

I couldn't resist the touch of gold against the lavender and white.  A Martha Stewart Trellis punch doubled up is the base for the lace heart trim and Wild Orchid cottage roses.

Die Cuts used:  Creative Expressions, Joy Crafts, Memory Box, Prima, Leane Creatief, Tutti Designs

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope my card has inspired you to play along with the Double D, "Lavender and White" Challenge.
