Double D "Things That Fly" Challenge!

Hey there, crafty  friends!  Thanks for stopping by my blog.
It's time for a new Double D challenge...

March brings to mind windy days and kites flying high in the sky. We at the Double D would like to elaborate on the "flying" aspect.  Our 2nd challenge theme this month at the Double D is, "Things that fly"!

We'll be choosing a Creative Winner along with 3 other top choices to receive our Double D Badge to share on their blogs.  In addition, when a prize is offered, we will choose a winner by random draw.  Everyone that enters has a chance to win with international entries welcome too.  Here's the prize...

You could be the winner of this amazing Memory Box Umbel Butterfly Die!

Team Darlene is up today with some added inspiration from Team Diane.
Our mood board offers four different photos to inspire you.  Choose one or all four when creating your challenge entry.

"Things That Fly"

"Soar"

The hot air balloon was my inspiration for this challenge.  I love hot air balloons and actually had the opportunity to take a ride in one.  It was exhilarating, memorable and a bit frightening too!

The card background design is from a Sizzix die that I cut in half and used as a mat behind the patterned paper cut with the same die.  The Maja Designs papers are from one of my favorite collections that I have been hoarding for a few years. The vintage colors and balloons are awesome.  The hot air balloon is a favorite of mine from La-La Land Crafts.  I stamped the sentiment on one of the Memory Box clouds and added some dimension to it along with inking the edges. The balloon is tethered using twine from May Arts.  I added Craftwork Cards Candy Dots to the corners.  They are great in the place of brads.  A couple of flying birds are the final touch to my "Soar" card.

Bazzill Cardstock
Craftwork Cards Candi Dots

MAMBI 3-D Birds

Popped in to say that I love your card. Gorgeous colours and layout. Fun idea to tether the balloon with twine and love how you've used the die as your background layers x

You can take any theme and turn it into a beautiful design! Absolutely wonderful! Love that you added those pretty birds. I would be way too chicken to go up in a hot air balloon. Some things are just not on my bucket list!
