Winter Wishes...

Welcome blogger friends to another great challenge at the Double D Challenge Blog!

This is our last challenge for the year and we will be taking a small break until January 6th of 2021.  The never ending year of 2020 will soon be over!

Our theme for this challenge is "Poinsettia", the traditional flower of the holiday season.  Usually red in color, the white and pink are also popular.  I've seen them dyed in purples and blues also that you will find on the mood board.

We'll be choosing three Creative Winners, a Top Creative Winner and a random winner of the prize shown below...

Elizabeth Crafts Poinsettia

I love red at Christmas time, so that was my choice of color.  And, Christmas birthdays are extra magical.  This card is on it's way to a dear friend already to be sure it arrives on time!

WINTER WISHES "Happy Birthday"

I went with a shabby chic look for my poinsettia card and did a good bit of fussy cutting.  The gingham checked background is matted with a barn wood base and inked around the edges with red ink.  The box shelf unit is fussy cut and adhered with foam tape for dimension.  The red poinsettias are also fussy cut from a second identical sheet of paper and layered over the other poinsettias with gold micro beads for the centers.  I stamped and embossed both sentiments and added a few fussy cut birds.

From my stash...
Core'dinations Cardstock
Elizabeth Craft Designs Banner
Martha Stewart Micro Beads
Mintay Winterland Collection
Paper Smooches Happy Birthday Sentiment
Ranger Super Fine Black Embossing Powder
Tim Holtz Fired Brick Red Distress Ink
Tim Holtz Glorious Gatherings Sentiment

This is so festive and fun. I love gingham. I enjoy fussy cutting from time to time. I got a card with matching envelop with the sweetest birds today that I am saving to fussy cut.

Ohhhh, I love what you do with paper, Vicki! I do not have this Mintay collection, sigh. It's so beautiful! Trying to use my other Mintay Christmas paper first. Love the red gingham with this. Merry Christmas!
