Welcome friends!
We're winding down the year with a new challenge at the Double D for the remainder of December. The theme is, "Santa and/or Snowman". A great topic with Christmas Eve just a week away.
Here's a fun mood board sure to inspire you!
Creative Expressions Mini Flourish Stencils
Our "not so little" littles are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Christmas Eve when we celebrate with our entire family all day long. Everyone, both littles and adults, hold on to the belief of Santa as part of the traditional joy and spirit of giving. Christmas Eve church service is the conclusion of our family celebration and usually ends after midnight. Also, one of my favorite childhood memories.
So, I went with a Santa shaker card as my inspiration...
This slimline shaker card is topped with a layered scalloped die. The window is a piece of transparency placed between the layers and the Santas and sentiment are rub-ons. I sprinkled some snow over the images, adhered the shaker frame on top of them and then to the card base. A few snowflakes for embellishing complete the card.

You have described a lovely holiday family gathering filled with tradition! It all sounds so lovely and I look forward to going back to Wisconsin this year for our Christmas and celebrating with my family. Vicki, it sounds like your Christmas Eve time with your family is going to be wonderful! This card is so very lovely too. In fact, it seems to me that it could be a Christmas decoration that you use every year. I love the shaker elements and the little scalloped windows. That dotted paper really makes everything pop. Thanks so much for playing along with us at our big blog hop at Word Art Wednesday. We really appreciate you!
Thank you so much, Barb!

Thanks so much!
I love the tradition of family time on Christmas Eve that you have created. And I especially like the end with the service at church....nothing like an Episcopal service on Christmas Eve. Your card is so stinkin' cute. It would be adorable as just a card, but you have taken it over the top with making it a shaker. Merry Christmas, my friend.
Fantastic shaker card and I love the framing of the card. Such fun too. So glad you joined us at Die Cut Divas.
Love your great snowy shaker card. The snowflakes are a nice contrast to the red of the shaker frame. Thanks for joining us at Die Cut Divas.
