Craft Hoarders Anonymous September Blog Hop!

Welcome to the September, "Craft Hoarders Anonymous" (and our very first, but not our last) Blog Hop!  We are a recently formed group of hoarding crafters...having fun and blogging about our creations.  And, we are sharing them with you.  Every month, on the 5th, you will find new inspiration waiting for you from the "Craft Hoarders Anonymous" ladies.

You should be coming to my blog from Gloria's Blog.  After your visit here, hop on over to Debbie's Blog next for more inspiration.  To start at the beginning and see the full list of bloggers, visit Gloria's Scraps of Life Blog.

Here is my September Blog Hop inspiration...

We recently celebrated the 1st birthday of my grand nephew.   His daddy is a huge sports fan, so his invitation and party followed a football theme.  The photo on the invite was adorable and I decided it would be a great focal point on his birthday card.

"1"

I did a lot of matting and layering which helped to give the card dimension.

And to go along with his birthday card, I made a train mini album with photos of Houston's first year. This Kaisercraft mini album has been in my stash along with the 3 Bugs in a Rug papers for way too long.  Happy to finally put it to use!

Here's a crafting tip that I had published back in 2007 in the Creating Keepsake Magazine...

I use plastic dental floss loops to thread fibers, twine and other materials through small holes.  Just pass your twine through the loop, insert the straight end through the hole and gently pull your twine through.  This works great for buttons too.

I made a pocket and tag for journaling on the first page.

Newborn, 2 and 3 month photos.

Another tag and pocket for journaling on this page.

4, 5, 6 and 7 month photos.

8, 9, 10 and 11 month photos.

The back cover of the mini album has a "one" year photo!  I added a final tag and pocket for journaling about Houston's first birthday.

I am also offering some blog candy for September.  You could be the winner!  Post a comment and become a follower of my blog (let me know in your comment) and your name will go into the pot for random draw.

"Butterflies are free"!

The winner will be chosen by Random.org on September 6th.  Prize must be claimed within 10 days or it will forfeit to another random winner.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

What a great idea to use his photo for this adorable card!! The train album is so cute too. So many beautiful personal touches. These are sure to be treasured for years to come. Thanks for the tip on threading twine through holes. I'll just made a banner yesterday and could have used this for sure. lol ~ Blessings, Tracey

What a cute idea for a mini album. I give a lot of baby gifts and this would be fun to do for my close friend who is expecting a baby in early November. A great way to use up those papers that I've been holding onto as well. Thanks for the ideas!

What a great way to record your grandnephew's first 12 months! he is going to treasure that for many, many years to come! What an awesome tip using the dental floss! I really struggle with that, especially as my eyes get older! Thank you for the opportunity to win butterflies. (are free!) Ha! Ha! I got a kick out of that!
