Double D celebrates One Year Anniversary!

It's hard to believe that a year has gone by since I was invited to be a part of the Double D Challenge Blog Design Team.  What a fun year it has been.  And now we're ready to celebrate our one year anniversary.

Please join us in our celebration!

This will be a two part celebration using both of our monthly challenges.  We'll be adding two additional winners for each challenge who will win prizes besides choosing our Top 3, Overall Winner and the Random.org Winner.  And....not only are there additional prizes for this month's challenges, but some of the Design Team members are offering their own prizes for the first challenge of the month.  Be sure to check out their blogs, leave them some love and you may be a winner on their blog as well!  You can find the list of team members at the bottom of this post. Rules and prize descriptions are available on the Double D Blog.

I am offering this Prima "Bella Rouge" Stamp Set as my prize.  Just leave a comment and follow my blog for a chance to win.  The winner will be chosen by Random.org on January 15th and be announced in the 2nd challenge of the month post on January 18th .  Be sure to stop back and find out if you are a winner!

Now, on to our challenge...
Always a mood board to inspire your mojo!  Choose one or all of the four photos below to create and link your project in our bi weekly "Anniversary Challenge".

Here's my "Anniversary" inspiration for you...

 "love always"

I took my inspiration from the top two photos. Roses are my favorite flower and I love the rustic and chalkboard trends that are happening right now.  The colors are some of my favorite too!

There are lots of layers on this card.  The front is a piece of chalkboard paper from my stash that is matted on cork and then on cardstock.  It's all elevated for dimension using foam tape.   I didn't want to use chalk and risk the words smearing, so, I used 3-D, white sticker words. The corner flower cluster and leaves are adhered to a wood slice with gold ferns beneath it.  I made a bow with a piece of hemp twine and placed it under the corner flower.  The base is white cardstock with gold filigree corner die cuts under the the main card front.

Thanks for stopping by...I hope I have inspired you to play along with our
"Anniversary Challenge".

Don't forget to stop by our other team member blogs for amazing inspiration!

Vicki, I love your rustic yet elegant design! I totally get the don't want the chalk to smear thing! I am loving the chalkboard trend right now, and am constantly looking for ways to achieve the look without the smear! I'm so happy you used that wood slice; it was one of the first things I was drawn to in the mood board! Your flower cluster looks amazing! Happy Blog Birthday and thank you for all your inspiration through out the year!

Thank you for the opportunity to win such a beautiful and useful stamp set! I've got my fingers crossed to get lucky! :):)

Fabulous take on the mood board, Vicki. Love the chalk board with the sentiment and pretty flowers, and how it just leaps off your card. I don't think to use black with a pastel, but it works so well on your design. Fun being on a team with you.
