Cut It Up! Thankful Challenge

Hey there crafty friends!
Today, I'm sharing my first project as a new DT member for the Cut It Up Challenge Blog

The first challenge in November, #186, is all about being Thankful and/or Thanksgiving and the technique ink smooshing.  Create a project inspired by this topic, use some ink smooshing and, don't forget to use a die cut too!  Link it to the Cut It Up Blog post Challenge #186, Thankful/Thanksgiving by noon EST, November 13th.  You could be a "Top Cut" winner, receive a badge to display in your blog and the opportunity to be a future guest designer for Cut It Up.  You can find the challenge guidelines in the Cut It Up Blog.

Here's my challenge inspiration...

 "Give Thanks"

I used shades of blue, green, and brown distress inks to create my "ink smooshed" background.  It's adhered to turquoise cardstock for a pop of color and I added a white die cut leaf frame over it.  The cute boy and girl images are from our challenge sponsor, Scrappy Dew.  I cut the centers out of the wreaths and replaced them with the sentiment, "Give Thanks".  The cornstalk, squirrel, acorns and leaves are all buttons with the shanks removed.

From my stash...
Core'dinations Cardstock
Jesse James Dress It Up Buttons
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Tutti Designs Maple Vine Frame

Challenges entered:
Dies R Us #132 - Trees and/or Leaves/11-13
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie #128 - Color Challenge/11-13

Thank you to our challenge sponsor, Scrappy Dew.

The little girl and boy are so cute and I love that die you used to sort of "Frame" them :). Love the smooshing effect too. I need to do this more often.

Hi Vicki! This is such a cute card - the images work well with the smooshing technique and the lace-like cover die cut ties it all together! Very nice!
