I've been diving back into Mixed Media lately while creating with a friend, Pam Bray's Sensation paper collection from Wild Whisper Designs. The colors and designs are fabulous while the paper quality is perfect for mixed media projects. The colors are some of my favorite and this challenge topic inspired me to create a folio card using a few of them.
Here's my "Stenciling" inspiration...
I had fun creating the flowers and butterfly on this cover. They were stamped on Shrinky Dink plastic, colored with pencils and baked. I haven't done this since our daughters were little! The corner area under the flowers is embossed with brown and blue chunky powders. The metal button is from the Sensations Flair collection too. I used sheer ribbon for the tie closure.
The folio opens to view four pages front and back, which includes the cover seen in the top photo. I've added to the design using a stencil and distress ink. The colors are so vibrant and coordinate well together for a vintage appearance.
Close up of individual panels on side including the cover. I created a pocket and tucked in a die cut tag to journal on along with some matting for photos.
Close up of back side panels including the front cover fold over flap. I fussy cut flowers and matched them up with others on the paper for added dimension. The photo mats are fussy cut and have die cut layers too. The sentiment is part of a coordinating stamp set in the Sensation collection.
I love how this 6 x 6 folio turned out when it all came together. But, I especially love this Sensations paper collection. The colors, designs, coordinating stamp set and flair are just gorgeous. You may need to add this to your stash. Check it out at The Funkie Junkie (U.S) or Wild Whisper Designs (CA).

Vicki, this is absolutely gorgeous! What a piece of art!! I so wish I could be there to look at it up close. I'm positive that the pictures aren't doing these panels justice. Have a great rest of your week!
