Here comes Santa Claus...

Welcome blogger friends!

Time for a new challenge at the Double D Challenge Blog.  It's December, Christmas is a few weeks away and we can't wait for Santa to arrive.  Our challenge theme for the next two weeks...

"Santa Hats"

We've got fun inspiration on the mood board...

We'll be choosing three Creative Winners, a Top Creative Winner and the winner of the prize below chosen by random draw...

Here's my "Santa Hat" inspiration...

"Merry Christmas"

This vintage card of non-traditional Christmas colors makes me smile!  The soft pastels almost give it a shabby chic feel.  I love the scroll focal image with Santa on display.  It was cut from both solid cardstock and patterned paper then pieced together.   There's lots of layers and details using foam tape and die cuts.

And, as part of a challenge I am played along with, I created a matching tag to go along with the card...

From my stash...
Bazzill Cardstock
Prima Sugar Cookie Christmas Collection, Heaven Sent Crystals
Paper Smooches Scroll
Poppy Stamps Lorelai Outline Leaf
Ranger Stickles
Spellbinder Seasonal
Tutti Designs Arched Fir Branch, Twig Wreath
Wild Orchid Roses

Just gorgeous, Vicki. I love how you used the scroll to frame the one Santa image and of course you had the perfect patterned paper. I never would have thought to use the wreath like you did but it sooo works.

What a beautiful card. That patterned paper is just stunning, and you have used it perfectly. The bow in the corner is the perfect final touch, and making a tag as well is such a bonus. This is stunning.

This vintage set is GORGEOUS! I would struggle a bit using the pastels being such a traditionalist but you sure inspired me to give it a go ... SO SO pretty!!! Would be a perfect card for my younger sister ... none of the 3 trees she puts up are done in traditional colors. Again .. thanks for inspiration! Beautiful! Stay safe & healthy my friend! Hugs

Oh, Vicki, these are both sooooo pretty! The paper is aptly named as "Sugar Cookie". Truly, your card and tag are deliciously designed and make a yummy pair. Pardon me for having cookie on the brain now. Your fault. Love!

You are a master of the vintage look and it doesn't get any better than this card. I love everything about it. The design and the colors. Any trips to Florida this year?
