Be the Reason...

 Hi blogger friends!

Today, I'm sharing an entry page I created for a journal I started a few years ago.  It's been a while since I added anything to it, but I decided it was time to pick up where I left off.

The journal title is "Reason" and every page has a quote about the word.  I love the different meanings and interpretations of the word reason.  It's a great opportunity to play with a lot of mixed media too.  Currently, there are six pages including the newly created one.

"Be someone's reason to smile"

The background design was created with a stencil, distress and oxide inks on watercolor paper.   I added several layers using patterned paper with torn and inked edges on a few of them.  I adhered a new and now favorite die cut over the patterned papers.  How cool is this macrame hanging die?  Embellishments include layered ephemera flowers, a butterfly and dew drops.  The quote is computer generated.  I used foam tape for dimension on the flower clusters and quote.  The final touch is glass bead gel in random areas of the page.  One of my very favorite mixed media products.

A close up of the intricate pattern in the macrame hanging.

The glass bead gel adds great texture.

How fabulous. When I saw that macramé die cut I just had to come over and look. Really unique, have never seen one like that. You have used it perfectly and I love all the vintage elements here. The beaded gel is so pretty, really makes those flowers pop. Just gorgeous!!

What a beautiful page for your journal, that die is stunning and I love how you used it as a stencil in the background as well. I love MM but never think of some of the elements you have used thank you for the inspiration. I'd love to see more of your Reason journal. Thank you for sharing with us at River of Creativity x
