Homegrown in a jar...

 Hey blogger friends!

It's August...wow, this summer is flying by.  We have a new challenge over at the Double D.  Our challenge theme is "Mason Jars".  With summer winding down, this is the time of year when mason jars are on the shelves everywhere.  My hubby has been canning hot peppers for years using his grandmother's brine recipe.  So, there are plenty of jars around our house right now.  As a matter of fact, he just finished a batch this past weekend.

Let's see how our "Mason Jar" topic inspires you.   Take inspiration from the mood board posted.  It could be a mason jar project or something in one of the jars that catches your fancy.  Link up your project and you could be one of our creative winners or the randomly drawn winner of the prize shown.

Here's my inspiration...

"Homegrown"

I used a mason jar embossing folder on both the patterned paper and transparency for this card.  Next, I fussy cut some of the peppers from paper scraps and added dimension to the ones on the card front.  The embossed transparency is fitted over the embossed patterned paper to make the peppers appear to be in the mason jar. I tied twine and a couple of tags around the top of the jar, adhered a few flowers and butterflies to complete the embellishing.

Fab Scraps Patterned Paper
May Arts Twine
Recollection Flowers

   Other: Transparency

Stop by and play along with our Mason Jar Challenge at the Double D!

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
Hope to see you here again soon!

How satisfying to can peppers and to make a card like this one. Very creative and wish I could see it in real life.
