Hey there crafty friends!
Today, I'm sharing inspiration for a new challenge at the Double D Challenge Blog.
Easter/Church/Cross is the topic with this mood board inspiration...
With Easter a few weeks away, this was a great opportunity to make Easter cards for family.
The second photo of the church spoke to me. I have so many wonderful memories of Easter Sunday with all of us kids dressed in our Easter finery as we head to church. I thought the pretty green, grassy DP was a good one for this card. The window was cut twice for dimension and embossed with a woodgrain embossing folder. I inked the embossed design with distress ink to make the detail stand out. Vellum worked as the glass and I added some lilies behind it. I didn't have any Easter lily images, so I used Calla lily stickers that I had on hand. The sentiment is stamped and die cut with a couple of pearls to embellish.
From my stash...
Bazzill Milkshake, Pine Cone Cardstock
Memento Rich Cocoa Ink
Poppy Stamps Grand Gothic Iron Works
Poppy Stamps Grand Gothic Window
Olympia Heavy Vellum
Paper Smooches All Year Cheer Sentiment
Photoplay Easter Sunday Collection, Cottontail
Queen & Co. Shamrock Green Pearls
Spellbinders Tags & Flags Die
Tim Holtz Woodgrain Embossing Folder

A beautiful card and I like the vellum in the window.

Hey Vicki, I went with the religious theme for this challenge too. I love your arch with the lilies behind the window. It is very hopeful and peaceful.
This is gorgeous Vicki! The lilies peeking through the cathedral window is absolutely stunning. I'm so glad you were inspired in such a way as to create this beautiful card.
It is a beautiful card, very clever idea for a church window, it all works together so perfectly, I hope you enter this into the Poppystamps challenge!!
BEAUTIFUL!! I too have many wonderful Easter Sunday memories of the three of us girls all dolled up in our fancy dresses, hats, gloves & little purses. Your card is beautiful and the calla lilies were the perfect save. Well done my friend!!
Stunningly beautiful! Gorgeous background and stained glass window, total get the Church vibe and memories, won't mention the chocolate stains on the little white gloves lol Love the added Vellum and pretty lily beneath! Fantastic!
I can picture my patent leather Mary Janes and dainty socks with the ruffled lace tops. Always with white gloves and a little hat, too. And, oh, the petticoat to make the skirt flair out. That was a long time ago. I love your beautiful cathedral window and it's just as pretty with calla lilies as it would be with Easter lilies. Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane, Vicki!
This is beautiful. Using the vellum with the stained glass church window die cut is genius. Love your colors in the background too. FABULOUS card.
Beautiful card Vicki! I love the die cutting with the soft image behind it. Great job! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We appreciate your participation!
