Welcome back crafty friends!
I'm happy to be through the month of February and sharing a project for the first challenge in March at the Double D. The theme is "Books, Bookmarks and/or Postal, Postage" and hosted by Team Diane with additional inspiration from Team Darlene. This topic leaves a wide range of interpretation with the pictured mood board. If you love to read, write or enjoy pretty florals, then this will be the challenge for you!
There's also a prize being offered to one entry chosen by random draw. These would be perfect for creating beautiful bookmarks!
I was inspired by the stack of vintage books in the first photo...
I love the romantic, vintage feel of the first photo from the delicate roses on top of the books to the lacy trim hanging over the side of the stack. This open book card front was created with an older die cut in my stash. There are four layers to the book although I used only three of them. The base is a "leather-like" specialty paper that I think makes a great book cover. The DP paper was my choice because it has the typed print format like a regular book and I inked all of the edges to enhance the vintage feel. I sketched a line down the center to show separation of the pages and adhered a mulberry rose at the top of the page. The bookmark has the same specialty paper base, is topped with a stamped sentiment and inked around the edges. I added a piece of vintage ribbon to it also.
