My Sketch World's August Sketch is design team choice. We were able to select our favorite "Lucy" sketch for this month's project. Not an easy task since there were a lot of great sketches.
I finally decided on the sketch below. It had a lot of white space, which I have been trying to challenge myself with lately and I liked the overall design.
Here is my finished layout.
Our granddaughter celebrated her 2nd birthday in May. I can't believe she is 2 already! She is growing fast and too sweet! I snapped this photo of her as she licked the icing from her birthday cupcake.
The base of the layout is white Bazzill. I used tags, stickers and papers from the Echo Park Collection, Little Girl to create the sketch design. I seriously love this paper collection! There is still a little of it hiding in my stash for future projects.
To give some dimension, I used pop dots behind the cupcake tier, cutie pie sticker, and one of the tags in the upper left. The scalloped background circle was cut using Spellbinders Grand Scallop Die-cut. I made green lacey border with my Martha Stewart Double Edge Doily Punch. The arrow trim is grosgrain ribbon that I found at Michael's. Love that I can cut it following the arrow design! I added lots of girlie trim...pearls on the lace border, on top of the cupcakes and tiny pearl flourishes from Prima. The Title letters and number are Paper Studio and Making Memories.
I actually accomplished following the sketch when creating my layout. Not easy for me because my end result never looks like the sketch I started with!
