Double D December Challenge, "Silver and Gold"

Welcome to the Double D Challenge Blog's final challenge for 2016!

It's been an amazing year and I'm happy to be part of this awesome team at the Double D.  We will be sharing more inspiration than your mojo can handle in 2017 when you play along with us.

December is an exciting month with Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas around the corner along with the New Year festivities.  Lots of fun and excitement in the days ahead.  I am really in the holiday spirit and looking forward to time with family and friends.
The Double D is sharing amazing holiday inspiration for this challenge.  Our theme is "Silver and Gold".  Do you know that song?  If you're a fan of Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer, it should be familiar to you.  Burl Ives sings it in this traditional and vintage holiday show.

Silver and gold, silver and gold
Ev'ryone wishes for silver and gold
How do you measure its worth?
Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth
Silver and gold, silver and gold
Mean so much more when I see
Silver and gold decorations
On ev'ry Christmas tree

Please join us for this festive, end of year challenge!
Here's info about the prizes...

We'll be choosing a CREATIVE WINNER and TOP 3 who will be awarded our Double D badge to display in their blogs. In addition, when there is a prize available (like today), we will use random draw to select the winner!  International entries are welcome as well and everyone will have a chance to win.

The prize for our December challenge is...
Creative Expressions/Sue Wilson "Merry Christmas" sentiment die cut.

And, here's  the fabulous mood board for our "Silver and Gold" Challenge!

Choose one or all four photos to inspire you!

"Christmas Sentiments"

I was inspired by both the gold and silver on this mood board and decided to use both colors on my card.  The base for this 6" x 6" card is a kraft/foil striped paper that looks awesome with the printed holiday vellum layered over it.  I added a die cut poinsettia with holly and pine sprigs along with a jeweled stem and spiraled silver wires.  Gold pearls in the flower center and corners finish off the card.
So, come and join the fun!  Link your silver/gold inspired project to our Double D December Silver/Gold Challenge post and you could be the winner of our awesome prize!

This is simply incredible, Vicki! I've been admiring it for quite a while now and it's interesting to read about its different parts. I was thinking you die cut all the words on the vellum, but, no. It's truly beautiful paper! Your arrangement with the poinsettia and pine and curls is gorgeous. This card will be a lovely gift to someone! While I'm here I'd like to thank you for my darling snowman card. You're such a lovely and thoughtful person. Merry Christmas to you!
