Double D, "Butterfly in Motion"

Hey there blogger friends!

Wow, July flew by and it's August already.  It's that time of year when the katydids become extremely verbal at night rubbing their wings together and chirping loudly.  Butterfly season is underway also. These brightly colored winged insects can be seen in flower gardens everywhere.

Which brings us to the Double D Challenge theme for the next two weeks... "Don't BUG Me"!  Show us your project displaying any kind of bug or insect.  Check out the inspiration on this mood board...

Link up your entry to the Double D Challenge Blog, "Don't BUG Me" post by Sunday, August 12th.  We will be choosing A Top Creative Winner, 3 Top Winners and one random winner to receive this prize...

I recently purchased a Motion Crafts Stamp and Die set created by Uchi's Design and sold by American Crafts.  This was my initial attempt at making a motion card.  And, because I wanted to show the motion action, I made a video which was also an inaugural attempt for me.  I was a little giddy at how well it turned out...

"Happy Birthday"
Here's the card up close...

The Motion Crafts animation set includes everything you need to create your card, except the paper, of course...die cuts, stamp and animation grid.  I used some favorite Prima papers and flowers in my stash along with a couple other die cuts.  The butterflies are cut from the patterned paper and vellum.  The Happy Birthday stamp is part of a set from Unity Stamp and artist Graciellie Designs.

Here's a closer look at the butterfly stamp behind the animation grid.  Opening and closing the card gives the impression of a flying butterfly.
