Shades of Pink

 Welcome back blogger friends.

We're halfway through February....hurray!  Time for the second challenge of the month at the Double D.  We are "in the pink" and looking forward to spring sooner than later.

Our challenge topic is "Shades of Pink".  Show us how you're inspired by the mood board.

We'll be choosing a Top Creative Winner, 3 Creative Winners and  an entry chosen by random draw to receive the prize shown below.

Impression Obsession Cupcake Die Set

I struggled with this mood board for some reason and was all over the place with what I wanted to do.   Not sure why, but ended up going in two different directions with my projects.  However, we have a lot of February birthdays, so the theme remained the same.

Happy Birthday!

I had a scrap of paper in my stash that reminded me of the first and third photos on the mood board but also included flowers.  The paper is gorgeous, but I wasn't happy with how the card turned out and wasn't going to use it.  However, as you can see, I've added it to the post.

So, on to a much simpler design.

Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday

Both of these cards are 5 inch square and almost mirror images of one another.

This CAS card was inspired by the round images, crystal candies and buttons.  I used 3 sizes of a circle die set to create the openings in the pink cardstock that is matted with white.  Next, I adhered some pink buttons and die cut birthday sentiment.  Easy Peasy!

I never throw out any extra die cuts, so I used the positives on the card below.

This card is similar in design, but uses the pink cut outs from the first card on a white background.  I adhered white buttons and sentiment on the pink circles.

From my stash...
Bazzill, Core'dinations Cardstock
Bo Bunny Patterned Paper
Doodlebug Buttons - Pink Champagne Glitter, White
Memory Box Madera Corner
Tutti Designs Birthday Topper
Tutti Designs Stitched Nesting Circles
Tutti Designs Stitched Nesting Tags
Wild Orchid Mulberry Roses
Other: Miscellaneous buttons, stamp, trim

All three of your cards are delightful Vicki! I love the design on the first card with all the tags tucked in. What a fun way to share some special sentiments for the recipient. The button cards are as cute as can be too!
