Hey crafty friends!
Welcome to August and a new challenge at A Place To Start. We are always "Anything Goes with an optional Twist". This month our twist is "By the Books". Create a project that includes a book or something about books.
It's not much longer until school is back in session and I've taken on the task of making bookmarks for my nieces first grade classroom. It's something I do for our local library once a year, but I'm adding 40 more to the list and will have them complete by the middle of August.
The first one in the collection is for the head of the class, the teacher!

I used some fun, brightly colored scraps in my stash for this bookmark. The primary colors were perfect for a first grade classroom teacher. I embellished with die cut stars to coordinate with the patterned paper in the background design.

- Initial Term: The initial term is 6 months.
- Production: Each designer is required to create one project per month.
- Commenting: Designers are required to comment on entries ending in their assigned number(s.)
- Deadlines: Challenge projects should be posted to the team forum by 7 p.m. EST the Friday preceding the challenge start date. Challenges start on the first Monday of each month.
- Influence: Designers are asked to submit their challenge projects to at least three (3) other challenge blogs. This helps increase participation in our challenge.
- Photography: Designers should provide quality photographs of their projects. Projects should be taken in a well-lit environment.
- We are a FOR FUN Challenge! Occasional Sponsors.
- We average about 100 entries per month.
- We have a DT forum on Blogger, for posting projects, and a DT Forum on Facebook for general contact and communications.
