Today I'm sharing a card created using one of my favorite flower die cuts. I will be sharing it with the challenges listed below.
Sunflowers are just that...sun and flowers! Such a happy flower and there are fields of them everywhere in our area by mid July. Did you know that they actually follow the sun from east to west returning to their original position after sunset?
This patterned paper from my scrap stash was perfect for the background. The sunflower was cut from white cardstock and inked with distress inks. I cut an oval as the background for the focal flower and embellished with a few jewels. The sentiment was stamped and cut from white cardstock also. I cut an additional sentiment from the yellow cardstock and offset it to create a shadowed effect.

Beautiful card, Vicki! You're right, sunflowers are both sun and flowers. I didn't know that they followed the sun. That's so cool. I'm wondering if you're in the Kansas area. We drove through there a couple of summers ago and loved seeing the sunflowers. I love all the little ways you've made this card special, but one thing that really stands out to me is how you used a yellow die cut sentiment to pop the white out a little. I wouldn't have thought to do that, but now I will! I also love that paper! How perfect to have something like that on hand for this card. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Word Art Wednesday.
