Welcome friends!
How can it be November already and time for a new challenge at the Double D? The theme for this challenge is "Fall Wreath". And it is fall after all!!
Beautiful inspiration...
And an awesome prize to one winner chosen by random draw
I love the colors of fall, but for this design I chose all neutrals.
Here I am back to my favorite square card size...a mini canvas. The embossed background is a favorite folder that I should use more often. It gives me a warm, snuggly feeling with the knit design and is perfect for this time of year. The base wreath is three layers and I used the negative cut from the cream color for the stamped sentiment. And, here's something I learned and found very interesting. I stamped the acorns, leaves and pumpkin with oxide ink and heated them to dry quicker. When I did this, there were shades of bluish gray that appeared in the ink. I thought about stamping them again, but decided I liked the way they looked and did a layer of blue/gray cardstock to pull out the color. I'm guessing the heat brought out the mixture of colors that created the actual oxide color.

I absolutely love this wreath with the die cut pieces and the sweater knit background! It all looks fabulous in neutrals. Oxide inks do some interesting things, but this is new to me. I love how they change with water. Now I'm all inspired to do some oxide ink watercoloring! Thanks, Vicki!
I like the embossed background and that you made your wreath just in onde colour.Great idea!!

Wow I am amazed at how you got this antique look on this wreath and card. Using just those colors alone it made a fabulous wreath.

I think the neutral color palette makes this whole card POP! It's gorgeous! Pumpkins, acorns, leaves, that beautiful twig like wreath, not to mention that lovely texture too! Falltastic!
