Mad for Plaid!

 Welcome crafty friends!

I can't believe we're almost through the first week of September.  It's time for the first challenge of the month at the Double D Challenge Blog.  We're starting September with a "Fall Plaid" theme.  Show us how the mood board below inspires your project.  Link it up to the Double D Challenge Blog by 8 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2023.  You could be the prize winner or one of four creative winners.

Fun inspiration!

The prize chosen by random draw...

P13 Hello Autumn Mini Creative Pad

The warm colors of fall always inspire me...

Happy Birthday

Plaids have always been a favorite design of mine since school days of "Madras plaids".  I dug into some older stash for this mad plaid paper.  This is also my first attempt at a twisted ribbon card.  The double sided plaid worked well for this design.  I used copper metallic specialty paper for the die cut leaf, kept all of the pieces intact and adhered it as one piece.

Next, I created a shaker card using just the top layer of the die cut leaf.

 SENDING WARM HUGS

I die cut the leaf into the card front and backed it with the plaid on the reverse side of the front panel plaid.  The leaf layer is adhered to acetate with sequins added between the layers.  I cut a smaller metallic leaf to mat the stamped sentiment.

Oh! I love the effect of the twisted ribbon technique. I've always meant to try this with ribbon, but I like it even better with paper. Your shaker leaf is just gorgeous! Love that you have both the skeleton leaf and the smaller full leaf. The copper glows against the fall plaid!
