You're The Sweetest!

 Welcome to October friends!

Oooo, it's October, my favorite month of the year.  I love the sunny, crisp days and the smell of Autumn in the air.  After a hot, humid summer, this month is most welcome!

It's time for the first challenge of the month at the Double D Blog and it's a fun one.
Trick or Treat
Smell My Feet
Give Me Something Good to Eat
Use the words to inspire your project.  Anything that smells, be it good or bad food or even feet.  Let your imagination run wild!

Some inspiration for you...
And a prize for one lucky winner chosen by random draw...
Art Impressions Clear Stamps

When I was growing up and it was "safe" to accept homemade items as treats, I loved stopping at our neighbors house.  She always made candy apples to hand out.  Quite an undertaking, but she enjoyed passing them out and it was enjoyable to receive one! Lots of good memories from trick or treat days gone by and so....

Here's my "something good to eat"!

YOU'RE THE sweetest

There's nothing better than a candy apple from the local fall festivals.  This is just a fun card with fun colors and fun food.  Fun, fun, fun!  The lime green gingham paper coordinates with the green of the apple showing under that red, sweet candy shell.  The pop of bright blue was a great accent color while matching the bow on the apple stick.  The sentiment is stamped directly on the patterned paper with red ink.  Red jewels on the four corners emulate the candy shell on the apple and are the finishing touch.

 From my stash...
Jolee's 3-D Candy Apple Sticker
Papertrey Ink Sentiment Stamp
Queen & Co. Red Jewels
Spellbinder Oval & Scalloped Oval Dies
Stampin' Up Ruby Red Ink

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Hope to see you again soon!

Love your sweet candy apple card! What a treat it was when I was little, to get a candy apple at the fair. This is delightful!!

Fun card, fun food, you are totally right! Oh wow! I thought that was Glossy Accents all over your yummy granny smith! We too could accept home made goodies and eat a ton of candy even before we got home, unfortunately those days are long gone! But, this card is FAB!!!

Wow, that candy apple looks so REAL, I could eat it!! What a fun and fabulous card! We had a neighbor that used to make caramel apples for just the neighborhood kids, so good, looked forward to it every year, then we had a neighbor that just gave out apples, we didn't like that as they were too heavy to lug around LOL!!

FABULOUS card Vic! I too have many fond memories of Halloween's past! We always made CARMEL apples at Halloween ... very yummy!! Did you ever do the 'bobbing for apples' ... OMG I thought my niece was going to drown as she was determined to get the prize and stuck her entire head down in the tub in order to push the apple against the side in order to bite into it! LOL Fun memories! Your colors/design on this card are perfect and that apple looks so real I could take a bite out of it!! Well done my friend!

When I created my card for this challenge a long time ago I was not into Halloween card making. My mind went right to the food just like you. I love this realistic looking candy apple. I'm actually glad that some of us did food instead of all Halloween. You brought back a memory for me 'cause in my younger years, I used to make caramel apples for special kids who came to my door

That apple -- yum! I love it! The bright green gingham makes for a countrified cheerful background. I have those memories, too, Vicki. At every likely occasion I went straight to the dipped apples. Caramel apples were my favorite, though, and I still enjoy apple slices and caramel dip. Your card brings back happy memories!

Oh, now I want a caramel apple! I love that you paired this yummy treat with the green plaid paper, and that fabulous sentiment is the perfect finishing touch. So glad you shared this with us at the Paper Players this week

Vicki, your carmel apple looks absolutely delicious! I too loved them when I was young, we had a neighbor who always gave them out. Love the pretty gingham plaid and the blue highlights too. Thanks so much for sharing with us at the Paper Players this week!

The apple looks so real that I want to just pick it up and take a bite. WOW, just beautiful. So glad you joined us at Die Cut Divas for our October theme of "Anything Goes".

Oh yum, I am drooling over here. That apple looks amazing! And yes, back in the day we could get treats that would be iffy now. I love your design, I don't know how you nail it time after time. You ROCK, my friend!!!
